Leadership Philosophy Discussion Panel Members Needed
U.S. Coast Guard Officer Candidate School (OCS) and NOAA Corps Officer Training Center (NCOTC) staff are looking for officers and civilians in management positions to participate in the upcoming Leadership Philosophy Discussion Panels for OCS Class 2-15 and NOAA Basic Officer Training Class (BOTC) 125. This unique leadership opportunity will allow you to directly shape the future commissioned officer corps across two services.
On Tuesday, 28 April 2015 from 0730-1200, Officer Candidate School will host individual discussion panels for two international students and 63 Coast Guard and NOAA Officer Candidates. Each panel will consist of three officers and/or senior enlisted members (E-7 to O-6) and will evaluate five to six students. As a panel member, you will be provided with your students' written leadership philosophies in advance to review. On the day of the panel, you will have approximately 25-30 minutes with each student. Your panel will listen as each student presents a summary of their philosophy, then you will ask each student specific questions based on your training and experiences, as well as provide constructive feedback.
This is a highly rewarding experience for both staff and students, as it provides a unique opportunity to develop future Ensigns and offers praise and positive feedback before they report to their first assigments. If you are interested and available, please contact CAPT John T. Caskey at john.caskey@noaa.gov or 860-701-6630.

Also, travelers will not be reimbursed for expenses incurred on behalf of other personnel. As an example, when using your travel card to purchase a meal, an officer may not pay for a group of people on his/her travel card even if the group consists of federal employees, the travel card is to be used for the cardholder's expenses only.
