CAPT Lawrence Krepp came to CPC from NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson where he served as Commanding Officer April 2011 to December 2013. His previous sea tours included: NOAA Ship Heck, NOAA Ship Whiting, and his first Command aboard the NOAA Ship Rude. His shore based and mobile assignments included: Staff Scientist, NOAA Marine Fisheries laboratory in Beaufort, NC; Officer-in-Charge, NOAA R/V Bay Hydrographer; NOAA Southeast Navigation Manager; Chief, NOAA's Navigation Response Branch; and Deputy, NOAA Navigation Services Division.
CAPT Krepp received a BS from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a dual major in Marine Biology and Education, with a minor emphasis in Mathematics. Additionally, in 2010 CAPT Krepp received his Certificate in Public Leadership from the Brookings Institute. He received his initial commission in the NOAA Corps in 1992, and prior to joining the NOAA Corps worked with NOAA's Undersea Research Center.
